About the artist

Jolanta Staniszewska-Kasińska was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, to a landed gentry family. Father Stanisław Staniszewski was a sculptor, he worked in stone and bronze. He died at the age of 42. The mother came from the Chrystowski family of the Kościesza coat of arms. In family chronicles and Lithuanian armorials, the beginning of the family has been recorded since 1662. The fate of the Chrystowskis was connected with Lithuania and the Eastern Borderlands. Members of successive generations are mostly landowners, but there were also high-ranking military and clergy. The christowski mansion was located in Szatyjy. Until 1939, Szatyje's estate was a center of Polish culture in Lithuania. The artist found the continuation of the sculpture art after her father in unique ceramics. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, preceded by a secondary school of fine arts and pedagogical studies in Wrocław. After graduation, she dealt with painting - mainly wall painting, applied graphics and didactics. He has been dealing with unique ceramics since the 1980s.

She has received numerous awards, including:

2017 - Award of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for lifetime artistic work

2006 - Gloria Artis Silver Medal for Merit to Culture for lifetime achievement in creativity and teaching

1989 - 1st Prize at the Biennale of Applied Art, Katowice

1989 - 2nd Award of the Minister of Education and Upbringing for didactic achievements
